Below is the executive summary, suggested programme of events and draft profit and loss for the Water Festival element of a jubilee event.
It should be noted that Worcester, Birmingham Canal Society expect to make a surplus on the Water Festival and propose that any such surplus should be donated to the ‘Cecilia’ which is operated by the Worcester, Birmingham Canal Society.
It should be also noted that this quite clearly states that this proposal is in support of ‘the wider Town celebrations’ and not an offer to fund the entire Jubilee Festival.
The Town Council voted against accepting this offer as the preference was for a separate Water/Music/Arts event (Droitwich Summer Festival) at what would become a regular slot in the events calendar during the last week in June and the first week in July.
Preparations for both the Jubilee Celebration and the Summer Festival are well in hand.
I propose to publish both programmes in the New Year.
